I think what I love about poetry,
Is the spaces it creates.
Not only the scenery,
With the wild descriptions,
And the subtext messages.
But also the gaps of the story,
Filled in by the reader.
It is a sort of joint project,
The poet providing a phrase of context,
And the reader remembering the unsaid words.
In the end, the poem is true gestalt, more than the
sum of its parts.

You’re most welcome John. I loved your post. I hope you’ll do more of these. You’re the first person to use pictures and that’s something I’d been hoping someone would eventually do.
I have been repeated the phrase, “I’m on the other side of Wednesday”. Implying that I’m sliding into the weekend. Ha! In truth, I might be on the other side of Friday evening. I tick way too many boxes for this COVID thing. I’m sorta redoubling efforts to get get better at some of the gifts that I’ve already been given. So, learning the saxophone is out, also watercolors. But bending images to thoughts is definitely in. Getting better at words and digital play is important. As the lyrics go, “I’m still standing…”
Sounds like me in many ways! 😉
