Tonantius Ferreolus, Praetorian Prefect of Gaul

He is the 58th great grandfather of my daughter-in-law. He was born in 390 in Rôman, Eure, France, the son of Clarissima and Ferreolus. He died in 470 in Roma, Roma, Italy, having lived a long life of 80 years.

I was trying to help Nikki with her genealogy line. She had several names that made the US searches very easy. Checking several genealogy databases got her back to the early 1800s in no time. But then, on one marriage there was an additional note. George Zerbe (French-Sevier) Zarva, (1599–1641)

born in Mecklenburg, Nordwestmecklenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, and he was her 10th great grandfather. The note said that he had married Countess Juliane Ursula DeValle in 1630, in his hometown. They had seven children in 17 years.

Countess Juliane (1599–1641) was Nikki’s 10th great grandmother. So now the race was on. What family was she from and what families did they marry into? I felt bad for the US branches that I left behind, but the data had dried up.

Jobst Nikolaus I, Count of Hohenzollern was her 16th great grandfather.

Berthold I, Graf Breisgau was her 39th great grandfather of daughter-in-law

Leopold III, Duke of Austria was her 25th great grandfather

Lots of counts, dukes, electors, margraves. I think I may have seen an emperor! I need to cruise more
